Book Preview: Preppers Road March

A new book from Mr. Ron Foster (aka @solarprepper on Twitter); Preppers Road March. Here is a brief synopsis and a video preview: A solar storm has just hit the world, causing an EMP event. An emergency manager visiting Atlanta must find his way back home after the pulse strands him away from his vehicle and beloved “bug out bag.” With 180 miles to go to his destination, David must let his street smarts and survival skills kick in as food and water becomes scarce and societal breakdown proceeds at an unrelenting pace. An interesting...

Hazard 4 Plan-B Modular Sling Pack

We tend to place a lot of time and effort into planning what goes into a bag. Whether we are using it for daily activities, or as a bug-out bag, we become very meticulous when it comes to choosing the right bag. The folks at Hazard 4 have come up with a modular sling pack, the Plan-B from their Evac Series. The Plan-B is slim enough to keep out of the way of the user, but yet has enough space to keep a hydration bladder system. The MOLLE attachments on the sling and bag allow the user to carry additional items if the compartments are full. Harzard...

H&R Pardner Pump Protector 12 Gauge Shotgun Preview

I am an advocate of home defense. I believe it is one’s God given right to defend their loved ones, and it is human instinct to protect those we love from harm. How we accomplish this, is another story. With so many choices of firearms on the market; it can honestly drive someone nuts trying to figure out what would best fit their needs for home defense. In honesty, it is also a turn-off for some folks and they usually end up choosing a weapon that really does not fit their needs. I have my basic “3-gun” group that I live by;...

5.11 Tactical Vest Review

I used to carry a lot of stuff with me, but as with anything else in life, tastes and styles change. So, I find myself carrying what I believe I will use that day. I do keep a B.O.B. close by, but not a lot of gear on my person. I am a firm believer in preparedness and planning ahead, so I decided to try something different. This leads me to today’s review; the Concealed Carry Tactical Vest by 5.11 Tactical. I felt I needed to expand my horizons and break out of the ordinary, so I decided to give the a vest a try as I have not worn one...

Pro Ears Predator Gold Electronic Ear Muffs

We as humans tend to enjoy loud noises as long as we’re the ones making them. Some great examples would be blasting your favorite tune in the car, fireworks, a motorcycle (Harleys for me), and lastly, a loud gun.  A “loud” gun?  Yes!  With a home-defense or even an EDC weapon, the shock and awe of a thunderous boom could be seen as a benefit when it comes to intimidating your attacker. Plus, loud guns can be just plain fun! But as much fun as it may be, protecting your hearing from exposure to gunfire is vitally important. It’s not easy,...

Wilderness Tactical Products Ankle Pack

The folks over at Wilderness Tactical Products produce some handy products which make carrying your EDC gear easier. Recently, they introduced the Ankle Pack. It is designed to conceal your passport, identification, credit cards, etc. The Ankle Pack has the ability to conceal a Keltec P-32 pistol and it even has a secret pocket. This is very cool. It is recommended that you pull your sock over the lower half of the Ankle Pack to help with concealing it. Wearing lose pants should also achieve this as well. If you go to (or through) some rough areas...
